How to Achieve

1) Spirit: We encourage the residents to read the Word of God daily. Scheduled weekly Bible study and church services on Wednesday and Sunday are mandatory. We endeavor to fulfill the Word of God as set out in Ephesians 4:22-24 NIV:
22. you were taught with regard to your former way of life to put off your old self which is being corrupt by its deceitful desires
23. to be made new in the attitude of your minds
24. and to put on the new self created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.
2) Soul:
Grief: As a woman starts recovery, they often experience feelings of loss and great loneliness. Dealing with the grieving process is essential for recovery for the addicted woman, as well as for any remaining family members.
Anger: Anger is a part of the addiction process. We explain the anger cycle, where it begins and offer ways of expressing it more appropriately.
Sress: Lacking coping mechanisms to deal with the stresses of on fast paced society, addicts often attempt to flee from stress through their addictions as an easy way out. It is our objective to teach ways of identifying and coping with stressful situations from a Christian perspective.
3) Body: By practicing an increased level of health consciousness, residents leam good nutrition and hygiene practices through class work, films and lectures on the effect of substance abuse on the human body.
4) I Opportunities: An important part of rehabilitation is overcoming a negative spirit and developing positive spiritual values At Tabitha House women are expected to complete a 120-day in-house program. Residents spend their time getting to know themselves as they bring their addictions under control, and learning job and social skills. Sound Biblical teaching in subjects relevant to the addicted lifestyle is stressed throughout the program. Our role is to facilitate change, but the primary responsibility for that change lies with the resident herself and success in the program is tied directly to a resident's willingness to work toward change.
